Curtain, 2012
paper, charcoal, stainless steel clips
dimensions variable(10 drawings together as one work)
These ten works on paper are my attempt to shape the often-overlooked 'found sculptures' of everyday life through drawings. One day, I took a photo and suddenly realized that the way we usually arrange and tie up curtains (the knots) is a ready-made sculpture. Its texture and form are incredibly captivating, yet, as functional curtains, they are destined to be overlooked, as our gaze always passes through the window, whether looking in or out. Subconsciously, the curtain is seen as something 'meant to be passed through.' I find this subtle psychological shift fascinating. The unconscious and mechanical routines of daily life often surprise me.
